Success at the Great North Run
Following many weeks of training, Hampton Knight leadership team members Chris Wakeham and Joanne Hughes took part in the 2014 BUPA Great North Run on 7th September.
Known as The World's Greatest Half Marathon, they completed the course in 2 hours and 20 minutes - not far behind winner Mo Farah. Their achievement raised in excess of £1000 for The Stroke Association with the figure still rising.
Chris and Joanne ran 13.1 miles from Newcastle, across the iconic Tyne Bridge and onto the picturesque coastal finish in South Shields in memory of Janet Hopkins who passed away in December 2013 after a stroke.
Chris explained: "The Stroke Association were great and helped us cope with the sad loss of Janet and this is our way of saying thank you from everyone that knew and loved her."
